Well, we took Violet and her five kittens back to the SPCA today. It was awful. The SPCA is full, and it smells bad and all the animals are begging to be taken from their cages. I hated leaving our guys there. They so need homes. It is bad to have them go from running amok in my house to being confined in a tiny cage. I so hope they will be adopted, but I fear they will be euthanized. I am thinking about adopting Hockey Sock. I don't need three cats, and Coco and Stripey will not like a brother, but it is so sad....

Nicholas

My nephew, Nic - Chris' oldest - was a bit disappointed that he didn't get published on the blog. So, thanks to the magic of the digital world, Chris sent me a picture and voila!

Today is Seafest and in a couple of hours, we will head down town and watch the parade. From our place, we can see the floats and groups lining up and have already had a great preview of one of the First Nations' Dance groups. It is trying not to rain and I think we may get some sun this afternoon.

Larry has put an entry in the chili cook-off. I am an alternate on the Charles Hays canoe race team. Should be a fun day.

My nephews: Tim & Ben

Are these guys cute or what? Ben is wearing his Dad's clothes. Looks like over his spiderman shirt, but it's hard to tell.Posted by Hello

Another Successful Skeena River Relay

Saturday was the 4th Annual Skeena River Relay. It was a great day with record times being posted by the winning teams. Highlights were the "Wonder Women" who not only smoked every other women's team (and a lot of the others) but dressed in outstanding "Wonder Women" outfits. My leg was #6 - 14.8 k. I had a really hard run and cursed all those mornings I chose to sleep in rather than train, plus the cold that took me out of commission for a couple of weeks just before the relay.

Nevertheless, our women's team ("Farwest Running Soles") was fun and it was great to catch up with running buddies from all over. Weather was good. Actually, it became quite sunny and hot during my leg. Lot's of Charles Hays people volunteered and some ran. Thanks to my friends from CHSS for helping us out.
